The Book of Job, memorably conceived of by C G Jung as the story of one man's struggle to make conscious the undifferentiated contents of the unconscious, is in its own terms an intensive study of the age old problem of undeserved suffering at the hands of an all-wise, aii-good, all-powerful God.
