Also known as Rope’s End, the thriller Rope is a play by Patrick Hamilton, novelist, playwright, and well-regarded contemporary of Graham Greene and J. B. Priestley. The source for Alfred Hitchock’s movie of the same name, this was one of Hamilton’s most successful plays (the other being Gaslight).
